JEWELRY CARE

We must always take special care with jewelry, since they are made with noble and natural, but delicate materials.

To make our jewelry we use noble metals such as Sterling Silver and 18k Gold, the latter we work in its different alloys to obtain a golden, pink or white appearance.

Metals have their own molecular and chemical structure, giving them unique characteristics.

925 silver is a metal that is softer and less stable compared to gold. With a blow we can mark a jewel made of silver or alter its appearance if it is exposed to a humid environment causing oxidation. This is the nature of silver.

The Gold we use at Matterica is 18k, an optimal purity for our gold jewelry to remain stable over time. The molecular structure of 18k gold provides great hardness and resistance to the jewelry made of this metal.

Caring for 18k gold jewelry is simple because it is less sensitive than silver.

Therefore, we recommend storing each piece of jewelry individually, this way we prevent rubbing against other pieces from scratching the surface.

Sudden changes in temperature must also be avoided, especially if the jewelery includes a natural gem, as well as exposure to the sun.

Using a chamois or dry cotton cloth and rubbing gently we can polish the jewel.

Silver and many gems are sensitive to some household products such as detergents, soaps, perfumes, etc. and can alter and degrade the appearance of the jewel. Therefore, avoid contact with them.

There are activities that are incompatible with the use of pieces of jewelry, it is important to use common sense to avoid personal injury and damage to jewelry.
